The Apartment
02 March 14
One of my favourite things at the end of an illustration job is seeing my drawings on stuff. When you work almost exclusively with digital files, it's really fun and exciting to see them applied to real tangible objects, out there in the world. In my 3rd season of working with Abi of The Apartment for LFW, the stuff just keeps getting better. In one year we've escalated from water bottles to freaking cars (and tote bags and umbrellas!). A mini fleet of Hyundais that were used to ferry bloggers between shows during London Fashion Week and saved my butt getting home when the trains weren't running in bad weather.
Problem is, at this rate I'm expecting blimps and double decker buses next season. Yo Abi, you've created a monster!

That’s pretty cool! Nothing better than seeing your work come to life in the real world! I also like showing my mum haha.

Your work looks amazing! I hope it does end up on double decker buses next season, it’s only fair after all.

WOW. I used to read your blog all the time but have not been to your site in a year or two, but what a RAD post to come back to. Like, a CAR? Are you kidding me? And this sounds weird, but those water bottles look amazing! Congrats on all the success — you are so freaking talented and hardworking, you deserve it all (plus that blimp, f’sho). Fucking GEDDIT, girl!

As I designer/illustrator I know exactly what you mean. It is a ton of fun seeing something go from digital to 3D. But a car! AWESOME. I’ve seen my work on beautiful signage, tshirts, aprons, menus, posters, framed on walls, but never on a car. That would be flippin’ hoot! Love your work.

I love the illustrations..but dare I say it, I think the drawings of the ladies could have represented a more diverse range of people, especially because Abi is black. :-)
