Tata-Naka

26 July 12

Better late than never? Somehow the beautiful Tata-Naka presentation, maybe my favourite of London's AW12 shows, ended up the last thing I edited and uploaded months later. Happily it almost coincides with the actual season it's meant for, so let's just pretend it was due to strategic planning of my editorial calendar. You can now pre-order most of the collection, which gives me another excuse to do oohing and aahing over all the mesh cutout pieces, especially the yellow/lilac combo that might be my absolute favourite. The prints are jolly great too.

The presentation doubled as their look book shoot, photographed by Natalia Alaverdian, hence the eyes-to-other-camera. Mad props to Chameleon Visual who completely transformed the same old Portico Rooms at Somerset House into something incredible (if a little intense when filled with people / pina coladas) in the space of about an hour.

See more backstage action here.

Baby sized replica of their grown up biker jacket!

all presentation pics are mine, the others are from the Tata-Naka shop.

I’m in love. The photos are great, so thank you. Now all I want to do is buy the entire collection (which clearly I can not afford to do…starving artist and all).

Btw, I am hoping to be at LFW for SS’13 in September, so we must try and make plans to meet up and go for a drink or two, FINALLY! x

Really like their solid color dresses and accessories. Solid technique, simple concept. However, while I see they were trying to be ironic with their child doodle prints, their colors clash. Not power clash but eyesore clash.

My favorite is the sweater / skirt combo. Seriously, it’s like an outfit from the Cosby show back in the day…when I was just a tiny, pale, blond thing who wished she could dress like the Huxtables but never found the courage. Ha ha! Love it.

This post was such a delight! Love this dresses and my excitement was bigger the moment I scrolled down to the “baby sized biked jacket” photo. I saw this coat worn by M.Duma and wondered who is it from. Now you made my day with this info. I wish I could buy it.

thanks and there is a mention with big gratitude on my blog :)
