Bonny Bonnie

15 March 11

Omfg, this utter perfection of a shoot from How To Spend It has apparently been on the internets for a couple of weeks, but somehow I just saw it today. Inspired by famed ginger fancier Dante Gabriel Rossetti and shot in the V&A's epic William Morris designed Green Dining Room, there is literally nothing about this I don't like. Photographed by Yuval Hen and styled by Damian Foxe (and yes, that is Bonnie Wright of Ginny Weasley fame looking very grown up!).

I actually came across this while reading this blog from the V&A. They're got a new exhibition opening on the 2nd of April called The Cult of Beauty, dedicated to the Aesthetic Movement (that's 1860s-1890s) which looks like it's going to be the best thing my eyeballs have ever seen. Aestheticism is probably my favourite artistic movement (no way of saying that without sounding like an art school douche, but alas) so it goes without saying that I'll be there WITH BELLS ON. Maybe I'll even take my ginger bff.

So pleased you posted this as I’d completely missed it – and what a crime against beauty that would be! The pictures are stunning – can’t wait to see the paintings that inspired them in the actual exhibition.

wow, seriously.

Goodness. Now THAT is a beautiful and unique shoot. It’s like artwork come to life (not that this isn’t artwork in itself, but you know what I mean).

And thanks for pointing out the Weasley connection – the face was familiar but I couldn’t place it. Grown up indeed!

I have not seen this either!! These images are absolutely stunning!! At first I couldn’t tell if it was a painting or a photograph.

I love how it looks like a mix between a painting and photography; It’s like modern renaissance….so inspiring
