Amy Borrell's perfect pastels

23 February 11

I recently came across Melbourne designer and illustrator Amy Borrell's delightful drawings and I'm totally entranced. Her use of soft pastel colours is perfect! The above sweet shop painting is particularly brutal, as I've recently given up sugar. Sweets, waaaaah!

Check out her blog and shop too, I think the Bird Eggs of Australia print is calling my name. There's just something about those speckled eggs!

Hi Kris,
Really really love your blog, I’ve been spying from time to time this past few months since I discovered it last December. I’m only commenting now since I find it appropriate for my birthday (February 23), It such a delight to see this pastel post, it is indeed perfect! I also want you to know that I used your blog interface as inspiration to mine, i hope you don’t mind.

Best of luck to your endeavors,

So lovely. The soft colors and delicate lines are so pretty. My favorite is the diagram table.

I had to point out… The saffron bottle should not be full. If that were a 2 oz jar it would cost 630 USD to fill it.

Otherwise, this is a very nice image.
