Spring cycling
26 March 10
Just finished a new spring themed drawing for the front page of my portfolio site. I've been battling with that bike for about 2 days, bikes are bloody hard to draw (like horses). The bike is pretty obviously inspired by my (black) Pashley Princess, which they've cruelly now released in red. So pretty!
Sketches ^ I did this digitally from start to finish, trying to work out a totally digital workflow which still looks as "me" as paper drawing. I really like digital drawing, because I'm always changing my mind about things half way through. It's nice having things on different layers and all the colours easy to tweak.

Hi, I would love to know more about how you draw digitally. Do you use Photoshop or Illustrator? I always wondered how to do this, but never actually tried… I only discovered your blog a few days ago and I really love it, and your drawings. :)

I love this, it’s fantastic. Bikes are really hard to draw, but it doesn’t look like you had difficulty at all!
I think your work translates brilliantly, this one in particular is lovely.
Do you think you’ll still do ‘by hand’ drawings/paintings? As much as I love these, I still love looking at your sketchbooks, as nosy as I am :)
