Judge a book by its cover

Best internet discovery of the day: Book Cover Archive. You can browse by designer and font too, pretty great.
What are you reading at the moment? I'm half-way through The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo by Stieg Larsson, which is quite good. I'm also listening to the audiobook of Crime and Punishment, which I like to think counts for something.

Every time I enter into an English book store, I’m just amazed by the diversity of the cover ! They are just so colorful, so beautiful ! I makes me want to buy everyone of them.
French book cover are really boring and ugly…
Here is a few examples, so you understand how much it’s depressing !

Well, there not all bad, I actually quite like the French cover of Stied Larsson’s book ( http://multimedia.fnac.com/multimedia/images_produits/ZoomPE/9/7/5/9782742761579.jpg ), but most of it is really ugly compared to the original covers !

fantastic find! i just got through james baldwins’ another country and am now a third of the way through pride and prejudice and zombies. from something beautiful and brutal to something quite dumb, but i needed a break from the levity.

I l-o-v-e the Book Cover Archive! It’s so easy to get lost in there, and I always end up spending way too much time in the typeface category.
I’ve got about 30 pages left in the first Lord of the Rings book before I move on to the next. And ‘reading’ audio books totally counts!
How do you like Crime & Punishment? I’m trying to get my butt in gear with the classics (hence LoTR), but Crime & Punishment has always been super intimidating.

I’ve only really just started C&P, but I like it so far. The names all confuse the shit out of me though, I can’t remember who is who (and being originally russian and having a russian surname, you’d think I’d have an advantage?!).
I know what you mean about classics, I always feel like there’s still so much I haven’t read. I’m planning to do all the Austins and the Brontes next I think. x

Oh, hah! I totally feel you with the confusing names. Last summer I got way into Orson Scott Card, and he gets heavy with Portuguese names in one book, then the sequel has Chinese characters added to the pile. I felt like I had to keep a pen and paper by my side just to keep everything in order!

I checked this book “Things My Girlfriend and I Have Argued About” out from the library a few years ago and loveddd it, but once I gave it back I forgot the name! I have been trying to hunt it down since, and on a whim once I saw this website (thanks to you xoxo) I tried snooping around to find this book and TA DA! I am reunited with a literary love from the past.
