I've been having fun painting plates and things. It's really satisfying when it's going well and extremely frustrating when your brush strokes go wobbly and you spend twice as much time wiping paint off than putting it on. The paint promises permanence and dishwasherability, so these could be used for eating and everything. I probably should test those claims first though! I'm going to be selling these and a variety of other ceramics, badges, prints, originals etc in my etsy shop in a couple of weeks. I'll let you know closer to the time.

Now is the time for requests if there is anything specific you think I should sell!

Those are amazing! I love the design on each of them; they’d be perfect to hang in a brightly colored kitchen or a children’s plates (I’d have been so happy to have them when I was younger)

I really adore these! If I get the chance (and have the money ;)) I’ll be buying! Please keep us posted!

thank you!
I bought Porcelaine 150 paint by Pebeo from this site. You might find this article helpful also. x

Hey! Really neat idea! I love the plates. You should make paper dolls of yourself sometime! I think that would be fun to see.

Kt replied over 11 years ago.

Most definitely a tea set, Kris!

Kt replied over 11 years ago.

Love these! I’d definitely buy some. I’m a sucker for hand-painted homewares. Especially cups/mugs! hint hint

Louise replied over 11 years ago.

Yep yep, I’m doing cups too! I’m half way through a vintage cup/saucer set :)

kris atomic replied over 11 years ago.

Those are so funky. I like them a lot. I know it’s not ceramic but a calendar would be a great thing to sell especially as it’s coming up for the end of the year.

Lil replied over 11 years ago.

agree with calendars! i’d definitely buy one :) they’d make lovely christmas presents too!

Katie replied over 11 years ago.

Ahh/Aww These are sooo adorable!
I would love love if you could do some cups. That would be amazing!

I heart Milk replied over 11 years ago.

Wow, those are beautiful. I would want an entire set! Or maybe a dessert set? With smaller plates and teacups, of course!
A calendar sounds like a really neat idea as well.

Young replied over 11 years ago.

So beautiful!

Féebrile replied over 11 years ago.

ooh these look fabulous! do you know around how much you’ll be selling them for? i wanted to buy a painting last time, but i didn’t have enough money in the bank (i don’t like to keep a lot there because i don’t trust them, lol) and i missed out because they sold out in like 10 minutes! :o

thruyourveins replied over 11 years ago.

you should do a plate-portrait of your kitten, like a kris version of the plates in umbridge’s office

also the cupcakes and candles you did a while ago would look awesome!

pineapplelime replied over 11 years ago.

hahaha that is an amazing idea! I just might do it! x

kris atomic replied over 11 years ago.

Oh, dang. These are phenomenal. At the risk of always inserting some mention of trains in every comment that I post, I think one of a steam locomotive would be rather grand! A girl with a conductor hat on? I see grand possibilities. Plus, the whole train thing is very Hogwartsian (making up terminology!), so I think tons of people would go wild over it. Wait wait wait – imagine a train on a tea cup, where the steam from the tea would be like, the steam coming out of the steam thing on the train. . .I don’t know the anatomy of a train, but I’m sure you know what I’m saying.

OK, I’m done with my rambling ideas!

elizabeth replied over 11 years ago.

how lovely! how much do you reckon you are going to be selling them for?

Mimi replied over 11 years ago.

Trays would be excellent! It’s not that I ever use them, but they are nice to have on display and have a perfect large, flat surface for you to cover with prettiness.

Meaghan replied over 11 years ago.

Love the plates! Could I add another vote to see some cups in your shop please!

Queen Lazy replied over 11 years ago.

Amazing!!

Teacups and saucers. Perhaps a Teapot as well! That would be lovely.

Britta replied over 11 years ago.

i love your work, your drawings, your pictures and your beautiful cat!
the plates are painted by hand?

emi replied over 11 years ago.

thank you! yes, everything painted by hand :)

kris atomic replied over 11 years ago.

Those are really, extraordinarily beautiful! Did you know about the dish-design contest going on right now (sponsored by Domino Magazine and Corelle)? I know it wouldn’t be anywhere near as great as having handpainted ones, but I’m sure you could knock the socks off of the competition, easily.

Trish replied over 11 years ago.

Teacups and Teapots! And saucers too! That would be lovely.

Britta replied over 11 years ago.

i would definitely buy some tea cups/mugs with your illustrations on.

Emilie replied over 11 years ago.

If you are taking requests, Kris…how about just giving up some of that talent of your’s, wrapping it up in a stylish little package, and sending it my way? C’mon! You know you could! Because clearly you have SCADS OF TALENT to share! Pretty please? Just a little?

Kris, these are fabulous! I won’t be able to say anything that hasn’t already been said by anyone else here but still…FANTASTIC! They made me smile from the inside out! :)

(As did Miss Matilda.)

Uncle Beefy replied over 11 years ago.

a few months ago, you made a post about a zine you did for uni; an a-z project. i’d like to see a copy of that in your shop, or just a postcard set of the a-zs – http://www.krisatomic.com/blog/?p=124#comments

i know a lovely poet, laura, who’s just released a cd/zine of her poetry and a bit of artwork. it’d be lovely if you did something similar, except i guess without the poetry? a bit of an ‘introduction to kris’, a catalogue of the many artistic things you’ve done (: x

vix replied over 11 years ago.

Hello! My favourite is the paper planes illustration, the girls with fangs. I love that one and would definitely buy a print of it if it´s in my price range.

You’re oh so talented, and I love how you try out so many different creative paths but always retain your style. Just awesome!

Maggie replied over 11 years ago.

I have to say, tote bags would be pretty cool, though I imagine everything will sell out before I get to it! You’re a proper celebrity now, a girl and I bonded in my ballet class when we both realised we read your blog!

Tamsin replied over 11 years ago.

I’d buy these – rightaway :-)
