No, I use special ceramic paint by Pebeo. I just have to bake the plates and things in the oven for half an hour and it becomes permanent. Apparently it even withstands dishwashing! x

very slowly with a fine paintbrush! if I make a mistake I just wipe it off with a damp tissue.

i live in india, and art supplies arent as great and we usually just end up using the low grade poster paint or oil based, but it just makes everything very messy and the glazing and baking is too hard!
i hope you put this up on etsy quick!
