10 things to love

12 August 08

1.Lots of beautiful photos from fittings and backstage at Rodarte. The dresses, the shoes! oh blimey.

2. Temporary tattoos by Julia Pott, available at her etsy shop. I want the unicorn. Julia also made this animation that must be seen by all asap.

3. Vintage dresses at My Favorite Vintage on etsy.

4. Two ladies rocking pink from copenhagen street style & the sartorialist.

5. Amazing pictures from the Olympic opening ceremony in Beijing. I watched the whole thing on tv and it was brilliant, though I actually said that the footprints looked computer generated at the time!

6. I found mixed media and textiles designer Karen Nicol's website via a post on stylebubble and love everything she does.

7. The most perfect lingerie by Stella McCartney at net-a-porter.

8. New season catalogue photos and videos at Sally Scott. I always look forward to these and they don't disappoint.

9. Fun headbands from ban.do by stylist duo Jen and Jamie.

10. The latest issue of Lazy Soosan zine by illustrators Laura and Lucy is available at their shop.

I haven’t got time to do my usual hunt through the interwebs to find nice things, thanks to moving houses and jobs, so this post has done nicely! I am already planning how I will wear a tiger tattoo. I love that lingerie so much, but have long since stopped expecting anything to be in my size, ever. I need architectural support rather than pretty things, sigh.
I love those headbands! My mum has been playing around making me feathered head dresses and headbands recently and I’m a bit obsessed x

Tamsin replied over 14 years ago.

i just came across your blog and i must admit, i’m in love! i especially love the ridiculously girly vintage dresses. they’re all so pretty and perfect for summer. would you like to trade links? xxx

Kris, you seem to be quite the knowledge on Etsy, and I know you can get gorgeous stuff on there but I never have time to trawl. My friend owes me a birthday present and I’d quite like a nice accessory, maybe a necklace or something to wear in my hair. Any ideas/recommendations? x

Lillian replied over 14 years ago.

Hey Lillian!
Just off the top of my head:
I like the pea necklaces from Rachael Sudlow, everything by Stephanie Simek and Paraphernalia. There’s some pretty feathery things at VieModerne and charm school design.
I hope you find something that catches your fancy! x

I also thought that the footprints were CG too! and that the little girl obviously was lip-syncing, yet people seemed so surprised when they heard the news. I wonder why people don’t use their own senses to watch a a show anymore.
