Back atΒ Versailles for the second time in a month, I passed on the madness and crowds of the Palace and went walking around the Grand Trianon and Marie Antoinette’s estate instead. It was so quiet at that end, it seems that hardly anyone makes it that far. A shame, because I think it’s the most interesting bit!

Thanks so much for these beautiful pictures- it really brings back memories! I completely agree about Petite Trianon- so beautiful! What are the pictures of the old tudor-looking home with the thatched roof towards the end? I don’t think I saw them!!

A thatched roof cottage with a princess-like tower? HOLY CRAP!
Sign me up! I want to go to there.

Something about that last photo! All the rest have such an unreal quality to them, so regal and majestic, but that last one brings it back down to Earth, like I could just walk down some random beaten path and happen upon all of it.

Versailles is out of this world.
