What I’ve been up to recently

September 22nd, 2008

I’ve been so busy! I got a job/internship as a fashion stylist’s assistant which I’m starting full time in October, but doing bits and bobs for already. The first thing I did was help out with a lookbook shoot for BODYAMR. I can’t wait to see how it comes out, the photos looked amazing.

The clothes were beautiful too.

I’m also continuing my decluttering spree. My bookshelf wasn’t coping with my book buying habit, so I decided to throw out my magazine archive. I had Vogues going back about five years which is just crazy, so I went through everything and cut out the stuff I liked. I filed away full pages in a lever arch file and started a scrapbook in an A3 sketchbook. It’s really satisfying and pretty handy to have everything organised for easy access.

I’ve been collecting lots of new cups and plates to paint from charity shops, car boot sales, ikea, all sorts. I’ve got lots of plans and ideas in mind.

Continuing with my ebay sales spree, I bought a body form! I call her Arabella. Much better than just sticking things on a hanger for photographs, I’ve had fun making little outfits and merchandising things up.

Matilda hasn’t been too well though :( She somehow contracted feline infectious enteritis, though she had been vaccinated against it and has never set foot outside. It’s meant a lot of visits to the vet, phone calls to the insurance company, cleaning cat barf off the floor and a pretty unhappy kitty. Poor Matilda.

Sounds like a great job – congrats!!!
I used to keep lots of magazines too, until I started cutting out the pages I liked and filing them in an accordion folder – crazy how many adds and useless pages fill out magazines, eh?
Hope Matilda gets well soon :)

I too have been working on getting rid of my magazines and making scrapbooks out of them. It’s been pretty fun and taking up most of my free time in addition to organizing my closet.

Oh no! Poor Matilda :( One of my room mates’s new kittens just had a barf attack last night, actually. Never a fun thing to have to deal with. I hope she gets better (though I have no clue how serious feline infectious enteritis is, and admittedly I just had to copy+paste it!).

And congrats on the job! It sounds like a wonderful opportunity for you!

Thank you for the kitten well wishes! FIE can be super fatal to an unvaccinated cat, but because she had her shots she didn’t have it as bad. She’ll be ok eventually :)
Hope your room mate’s kitten is better soon too! x
