Come on, Vogue (Girl)

August 31st, 2010

So excited to finally be able to share this illustration (and a bit of hand lettering) I did for Vogue Girl Korea‘s September issue. It’s a four page article about this season’s it-bags, drawn with the matching runway looks. Not gonna lie, I’m majorly team Vuitton on this one. How about you?

One of the first things I ever posted on this blog was a load of super cute Vogue Girl Korea editorials, so needless to say I’m psyched to get my copy in the mail.

Close-ups below, because you know how much I like small details that no-one can ever make out with the naked eye. Yes, that’s teeny-tiny stitching on the Miu Miu bag!

This is the first sketch, before the Marc look got switched out for Miu Miu.

And the early line work.

I find these illustrations even more appealing that the actual clothes. I want to be a 2D girl and wear your sketches! 3.1 Phillip Lim (the bag!) and LV are my favorites.

Congrats! I’m so happy for you :)

As much as I like Vuitton’s and Celine’s (the box shoulder bag) I have to say I’m team Miu Miu, aka the big satchel because with books, my camera and all the other stuff I’m pretty much carrying luggage. Thank god I love big bags!

Oh, you’re totally right. In my head I’d like to be the Vuitton girl, but in reality I’m dragging my DSLR and my laptop and my sketchbook etc etc in a massive bag! x
